In cases where there is sufficient maxillary bone, the application of one or more dental implants is a relatively simple surgical operation that only requires local anesthesia.
New bone mass can now be generated using bone regeneration materials of synthetic or natural origin.
Volume reconstruction may be necessary if the tooth has been extracted a few months or years earlier, due to periodontal disease or bone infections. Only in especially complicated situations it is necessary to form bone first and a few months later insert the implant in a second operation.
The application of dental implants can be very varied.In the case of the loss of a dental piece, the implant avoids the carving of the adjacent pieces (bridge). It is a minimally invasive treatment. The implant stimulates the bone in the same way as a natural root and maintains the volume of the alveolar process.
If several dental pieces are missing, the procedure is the same as described above, simply more implants are inserted for a solution with individual covers or at least two implants to apply the prosthetic solution of a bridge.
In the case of a completely edentulous jaw, dental implants also offer a magnificent possibility to return to the patient the quality of life, security and above all the possibility of correctly crushing the food, important for general health.
Implants can be used to hold the existing prosthesis. Especially in the lower jaw this option provides enormous comfort for the patient. The intervention is minimally invasive, very economical and the effect of the well-held prosthesis is immediate. It can be done at any age.
For patients who prefer a fixed bridge there is also a reliable and very little traumatic treatment protocol.
